At Project Author’s Session 1 last March 18, 2017, we had the privilege of having award-winning author, Nelson Dy, speak. Together with his lovely and loving wife, Lucy, they encouraged and inspired the audience of aspiring authors.
Lucy was the catalyst that God used in Nelson’s journey as an author. While going through Nelson’s stuff (as wives are prone to do 🙂 , Lucy discovered her hubby’s stash of well-organised journals.
“These are so good! You should have them published as a book,” Lucy said to encourage Nelson.
And the rest is #HisStory.
From Nelson’s journals came out the book How to Mend a Broken Heart (2006). Yes, he journaled about his journey of unrequited love, being busted and being heart-broken…and surviving and moving forward with so much rich insight, grace and wisdom.
That book helped so many people and so many more books followed such as: Your First Job: A Practical Guide to Success (2007) and the Gintong Aklat award-winning The Honeymoon Never Ends (2010).
As a gift to all those who want to review or read Nelson’s notes from his inspiring presentation/talk, here are his notes and transcript. Courtesy of the author himself. Thank you, Nelson!

Let me know if you all are able to download his pdf gift on the link above.
Hope Nelson inspires you to write–even if it’s in your journal. Who knows? One day your journal will be turned into and published as your first book!
p.s. If you don’t write what God has put into your heart to write, then you might regret it for the rest of your life… And then you’ll have to read Nelson’s latest book: Regret No More
Blessings!
